Questions About Our Programs? We Have Answers.

We focus intensely on personalization and understanding how each student learns. Rather than moving all students through the same curriculum at the same pace, we diagnose each student's learning profile, strengths, and gaps, then design completely customized instruction. We also prioritize deep conceptual understanding over procedural drilling, employ multiple teaching modalities to match different learning styles, and maintain transparent communication with parents about progress.

We work with students from [grade range], helping them develop mathematical competency from foundational number sense through [highest grade/level offered].

Yes! We offer both in-center and online instruction. Online sessions are fully interactive, use screen-sharing and digital whiteboarding, and maintain the same level of personalization and quality as in-center sessions. Many families appreciate the flexibility of online learning, and our technology ensures effective instruction happens in both formats.

We use multiple methods to monitor progress: regular formative assessments during sessions, quarterly progress reviews, comparison of current performance to baseline performance, school grade improvements when applicable, parent feedback, and student self-assessments. We provide regular written updates documenting progress, and we adjust instruction if progress isn't being made at an appropriate rate.

We have experience working with students with various learning differences. We can accommodate different learning needs through modified pacing, multisensory approaches, frequent breaks, movement breaks, and other accommodations. We recommend that families also work with school-based special education services. We communicate regularly with special education staff to ensure consistent approaches across settings. If your child needs formal psychoeducational assessment to identify a learning disability, we can provide referrals to qualified professionals.

This depends on your child's needs. Students catching up from significant gaps often benefit from 3 sessions per week initially. Students working to maintain or gradually improve performance often do well with 2 sessions per week. Students in enrichment programs might attend 1-2 times per week. We'll make recommendations based on your child's assessment and goals, but frequency is flexible based on your family's needs and budget.

We understand that schedules change and students get ill. Sessions can be rescheduled within 30 days of cancellation with 24-hour notice. If less notice is provided, we may not be able to reschedule before losing the session. Repeated last-minute cancellations may affect future scheduling availability.

Yes, though with an important distinction. Homework help is available during sessions, and we'll certainly assist if your child needs clarification on assignments. However, our primary focus is on building deep understanding and skills, not just completing homework. We've found that when students develop genuine understanding through our customized curriculum, they're able to complete homework independently, which reduces overall homework stress. Our lessons are designed so that the skills your child learns directly support independence with schoolwork.

We believe in transparent, regular communication. Parents receive brief written updates (email or through our parent portal) each week with a summary of what was learned. Every 3 months, we schedule a progress review conversation where we discuss progress toward goals, celebrate achievements, identify any areas needing adjustment, and update the learning plan. Parents can also email with questions anytime—we typically respond within 24 business hours.

If you're not seeing progress after a reasonable timeframe (typically 6-8 weeks of consistent attendance), we schedule a formal progress review to troubleshoot. This might involve: adjusting the learning plan, changing instructional approaches, assessing whether frequency needs to increase, or discussing whether specialized assessment for learning disabilities might be warranted. We're committed to your child's success and will make adjustments if progress isn't happening.

Absolutely. We encourage families to share information about their child's learning with school teachers. With family permission, we're happy to communicate directly with teachers about what your child is working on, to ensure alignment between school curriculum and our instruction, and to collaborate on strategies to support your child's success.

We offer both! Small group sessions (4-6 students) provide many of the benefits of private instruction while creating a collaborative learning environment where students benefit from peer interaction. Many families choose groups for maintenance or enrichment, and private instruction for more intensive catch-up work. Both formats maintain our commitment to personalization and quality.

We don't rely on a single commercial curriculum. Instead, we draw from multiple research-based approaches including [mention any specific methods you use]. Our curriculum is customized to each student's needs and learning plan. We select materials, activities, and resources based on what will work best for your individual child, rather than moving all students through the same predetermined sequence.

Math anxiety is common, and we take it seriously. We create psychologically safe learning environments where students feel they can take intellectual risks without judgment. We use encouraging language, celebrate effort and progress, ensure appropriate challenge levels, and help students develop confidence through success. Many of our students enter with anxiety and leave with genuine enjoyment of mathematics. If anxiety is severe or stems from trauma, we can recommend mental health professionals who specialize in anxiety in addition to our tutoring support.
